The Long Night of Short Films 2012

The Long Night of the Short Films 2012 will be held on June 16, in the patio of the National Library of Romania. There several screens will be installed for the projection of the world’s best short films over the past year, according to the organizers.  Once a year, the short films awarded at the Oscars, Berlin, BAFTA, Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, Tribeca and Cannes can be watched by Bucharest viewers. Most of them shown for the first time or on single projection in Romania, the world’s best and most recent films less than 20 minutes-long will be featured on the royal night of short films. The film marathon night will test the cinephiles’ endurance into 5.00 in the morning. The event won’t be held outdoors unless weather permitting, but in the National Library of Romania building. Among the films to be shown, “A Morning Stroll” (Director Grant Orchard, UK, 2011), winner of the BAFTA award for best short feature, the Sundance award, and was an Oscar nominee too. The event will be opened by a live concert performed by a Romanian band and will continue with projections on the National Library Building, live cooking and exhibitions. The Night Long of Short Films is a ShortsUP event, now in its fourth year. Tickets are for sale at MyTicket and Eventim, RON 30 each, or on event day, RON 40.
