The George Enescu Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow

The 20th edition of the ‘George Enescu’ International Festival is kicking off tomorrow. The festival was founded in 1958 as a sign of recognition of Enescu’s genius, to celebrate the life and creation of the acclaimed Romanian composer. This year, the ‘George Enescu’ Festival will be hosted at Sala Palatului, Romanian Athenaeum, Sala Radio, National Opera, Bucharest National Theatre (TNB), National Music University and the Festival Square (George Enescu Square). Many of the concerts taking place within the ‘Enescu’ Festival by prominent musicians from around the world will also be offered in Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu until September 25. The festival gets a new brand identity with its 20th edition this year: ‘Magic exists at the George Enescu Festival’. According to the official website, this change is justified by the need for a visual discourse able to clearly communicate the identity of the festival. Tickets and subscriptions can be bought on and in the Eventim, Germanos, Orange, Vodafone and Humanitas Bookstores stores.
