Temps, growing more and more on the Romanian labor market

Estimations made by the financial management company Accace, over 55,000 people were hired on temporary jobs last year, 10% more than in 2010. The number of temporary employees is on a growing trend this year too, as companies learn the advantages of this type of work relations, according to the company representatives. Accace experts believe that the trend will also be encouraged by the Labor Code modification operated in 2011. A temporary employee must benefit from the same wage as a permanent employee in the same job, regardless of how he was hired – directly or through a temporary work agent. Temporary work is used on large scale in Europe, and mature markets like the UK, Germany or France have millions of temporary employees, while Central and Eastern Europe has hundreds of thousands.
