Romanian insurance market went up

According to the Insurance Supervisory Commission (CSA), general and life insurance market still stands at the previous level of 2009, but in 2012 was reached the first recorded growth, of 5.8% to 8.27 billion lei, after market declined during 2009-2011 by almost 12%, from 8.87 to 7,82 billion lei. “On the general insurance market, insurer’s subscriptions stood at USD 6.47 billion, registering as an advance of 6.3% over the previous year. Subscriptions on Life insurance generated 1.8 billion lei, with 3.8% higher than that reported in 2011”, stated CSA. General insurance portfolio, the largest share, i.e. 79% of the total, was dominated by subscriptions for auto insurance classes – Casco and RCA – and those for fire and other natural disasters. Hull facultative underwriting policies were over £ 1.9 billion, reaching a share of almost 30% of the total portfolio of life insurance, but with 3.72% down from 2011.
