Romania wants in on the Czech, Slovakian and Hungarian electricity markets

Transelectrica is the energy market operator OPCOM and the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). It drafted a letter of intent in order to join a project to merge electricity markets in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The project’s Board of Directors approved recently the letter of intent. Talks between the Romanian authorities in the field and those in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, concerning a closer collaboration and a joint process to integrate the electricity markets in the four countries, are expected to kick off in the next stage.
