OTC electricity trading platform operational on Feb. 1, 2014 – OPCOM

Director General of Romania’s OPCOM gas and electricity market operator Victor Ionescu told a conference on the liberalisation of the power market that an over-the-counter (OTC) platform for electricity trading in Romania will become operational on February 1, 2014, writes AGERPRES. “The project for the OTC trading was approved this summer by the Financial Oversight Authority (ASF) and will be carried through in five months’ time. On February 1, the platform will be made available to the market players,” said Ionescu. He added that the creation of an OTC platform in cooperation with representatives of energy suppliers is mainly designed to eliminate any suspicion over term trading.
