Musical instruments on display @ MTR

March 1 to April 1, the Romanian Peasant’s Museum (MTR) will host the musical instruments and sound images exhibition “Chopin in Love”, highlighting the links between traditional folk music and Frederic Chopin’s music, according to a release by the museum. The opening is scheduled for March 1st at 5pm. Participants will include Maja Wawrzyk, the director of the Polish Institute in Bucharest, and Adam Czyzewski, the director of the Warsaw National Museum of Ethnography. After the opening ceremony, the public is invited to the “Horia Bernea” Studio for the concert “National Influences in Chopin’s Music”, offered by the Janusz Prusinowski Trio. The exhibition, initiated by Adam Czyzewski, highlights the links between traditional folk music and Chopin’s music and comprises works by folk artists from across the world, whose music may have influenced the celebrated Polish composer.
