McDonald’s fast-food business at over 100m Euro in 2011 in Romania

This year, the McDonald’s chain business in Romania will exceed 100 million Euro, from 99.3 million in 2010 while for 2012, the American fast food subsidiary plans a further increase. According to Finance Ministry data, in 2010 McDonald’s Romania has reported a turnover of 418.2 million lei. When asked about this year’s turnover and whether it would surpass 100 million Euro, the company’s CEO Daniel Boaje said this was “very likely” but tit not give other details. The fast food chain is currently present in 21 cities, with 28 units in Bucharest and 36 elsewhere across the country, and has invested over 110 million dollars during its 16 years of activity on the local market. The company has over 3,500 employees in Romania and over 140,000 customers every day.
