IMF agreement to be successfully concluded

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board yesterday discussed the letter of intention and practically acknowledged the successful conclusion of the agreement it had had with Romania. All outstanding issues – arrears, privatization– of CFR Marfa and the listing of Transgaz have been dealt with, therefore absolutely all conditions are now met for a successful conclusion of the agreement, Prime Minister Victor Ponta told the ministers at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. He stressed that, during his term so far, Romania had managed to end the excessive deficit procedure, unblock the operational programmes in the sectors of transport, environment, human resources and agriculture.
