Hungary’s Magyar Posta interested in Romanian Post

On Wednesday, Hungarian state-owned company Magyar Posta announced on Wednesday it is interested in buying the Romanian Post and will decide on a possible investment depending on the privatization’s opportunities and terms. The Ministry of Information Society, which owns 75 % of the Romanian Post’s registered capital, published the privatization announcement on Monday, seeking to sell a participation of 51 %.  The offers will be opened on April 11, the interested investors having to prove that they have the financial resources needed for a cash capital increase of a minimum of EUR 150 M. The privatization is open only to individual companies or consortiums that meet several pre-qualification criteria.
