Government increases SRI funding next year, cuts presidential budget

The next year’s presidential budget has been decreased by 1.5 million lei by the Government. The funding is currently 2.3 million lei lower than the original 2012 budget predictions. For this year, the presidential administration has had a 28.8 million lei budget. The moment the initial budget was presented, the presidential funds were of about 29.6 million lei, the difference was meant for Cotroceni Palace renovation work. The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) however had an unexpected budget increase. The SRI budget is now worth 986.3 million lei.
