Government does not plan to raise taxes to reduce deficit next year – Emil Boc

Prime Minister Emil Boc told on public television channel that the Government does not plan to raise taxes in 2012 as they have a deficit target of 1.9 % of the GDP and they aim at a zero budget deficit in 2013. He showed that the fiscal union treaty agreed by Romania within the European Union will bear no influence on the state budget in 2012 because the upcoming European measures will come into force in 2012. The Head of Government claimed that “Romania will not have to make great extra efforts to reach its targets in the intergovernmental agreement, since we have headed ourselves towards that direction for the past two years.”
