Exhibition on the Romanian – Russian relations in Bucharest

On Wednesday opened at the Parliament Palace the photo exhibition “135th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Romania and the Russian Federation”. Attending the event were Ambassador Oleg Malginov and the president of the parliamentary group of friendship with the Russian Federation, Deputy Viorel Stefan. Viorel Stefan said that the exhibition presented “a history of the bilateral relations between Romania and Russia” in pictures, starting in 1878. Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Valeriu Zgonea conveyed a message, which was read by the president of the parliamentary group of friendship with the Russian Federation. The exhibition will be open in the lobby of the Parliament Palace over December 3-5 and includes 120 photographs, some of them being portraits of Dimitrie Cantemir and Antioh Cantemir, Peter the Great, Russia’s Catherine the Great, Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, but also photographs of the first Russian envoy to Romania Lev Pavlovich Urusov, Russia’s Czar Alexander II, Romania’s Carol I and so on.
