Coordination of Romania and Bulgaria’s accession to Schengen Area, agreed upon

A Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) release issued for AGERPRES shows that Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean, and President of Bulgaria’s National Assembly Mihail Raykov Mikov, agreed during their meeting, upon coordination in terms of priority files, such as the two countries’ joining the Schengen Area. Corlatean voiced interest in intensifying economic exchanges between the two countries, based on the current significant potential, which must be capitalized on. The meeting between the two officials has contributed to deepening the Romanian-Bulgarian bilateral dialogue, including the parliamentary one, and represented a good opportunity to assess the political, diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two states, the MAE informs.
