Auction dedicated to military life by Artmark

On April 11 will take place in Bucharest an auction dedicated to military life. The Artmark organized auction titled “The Military and Antiquities”, features 140 items dating from the 1st century B.C to the Second World War: military equipment, crests, medals and decorations, swords, historical documents and photos alongside novel objects. One of the main items in the auction is a French rapier, a type of sword dating from 1630 – 1645 and designed for the personal guards of the French throne inheritor. The sword, which is decorated with heraldic symbols associated with Louis XIV of France, has a starting price of EUR 6,500.The auction also features a coding machine used by the German army during the Second World War, the crest of a Persian nobleman, a battle mace dating from the times of Romanian prince Mihai Viteazu, a 16th century German sword, a Spanish crossbow and a Sachs military motorcycle. Between April 3rd and 10th , the items in the auction will be on display at the Artmark HQ, at the Cesianu – Racovita Palace, between 11.00 – 21.00.
