80 % of Romania’s exports, imports go to and come from Germany and Italy, in 2011

A report on the EU single market that the EU Commission’s officials in Romania presented on Tuesday reads that Romania’s main partners in consumer goods import and export activities were Germany, Italy and Hungary, in 2011, when almost 80 % of our country’s exports and imports went to and came from the first two countries.  According to the report, Italy (41.4 %) and Germany (38.5 %) were Romania’s top partners in import and export exchanges, last year.  Likewise, Romania’s commercial openness was a little higher than the EU average, in 2010, so that the intra-EU commerce posed for 56 % of our country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 12 % less than the EU average (68 %).  At the same time, the EU commodity imports and exports from and to Romania totaled 48 % of our country’s GDP, in 2010, by 8 % beneath the EU average, while 80 % of the commercial exchanges go to and come from the 27 EU Member States. The Report on Single Market Governance – Together for economic growth after 20 years of single market supplies information and data from Eurostat, the World Bank, and the opinions expressed there belong to the authors, but they do not necessarily mirror the EU official assent.
