There will be two states with Romanian as official language in the EU

On Thursday, Romania’s President Traian Basescu said that the European Union would have two states with Romanian as official language, according to AGERPRES. The Romanian President thanked the initiators and the constitutional judges of the Republic of Moldova who decided that the official language of the neighbor state was Romanian. “I am voicing my gratitude to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, but also to the measure initiators — Deputy Ana Guta and Mr Ghimpu’s Party, the ones who filed with the CC a request on the correction of the constitutional realities of article 13 of the Republic of Moldova Constitution, which established the Republic of Moldova’s official language as the Moldovan language. The decision today established that the official language of the Republic of Moldova is the Romanian language,” Basescu said.
