Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica will sell almost half of production at regulated prices

According to an order of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica will sell up to 50 % of the energy delivered – namely a maximum of 40 % – at regulated prices, in order to maintain “reasonable” prices for households. This measure will be applied during the regulated energy fees elimination schedule that ends December 31, 2017. The objective of this provision is to maintain reasonable prices that are comparable to regulated fees for energy supplied to households, and to gradually diminish energy quantities sold to producers based on regulated contracts. The government must gradually relinquish regulated natural gas and electricity prices, both where industrial consumers and household consumers are concerned, as part of the commitment undertaken before the International Monetary Fund.
