Romania exported twice as much wheat as last year

European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dacian Ciolos, will propose the adoption of a Regulation to the European Commission aiming at promoting the European agri-food products on foreign markets. Also, the minister declared that Romania exported EUR 300 M worth of wheat this year, twice as much as during the first nine months of 2012, when sales on foreign markets yielded EUR 146 M. According to the Agriculture Minister, this year’s wheat output was high and prices were lower than in 2012, when draught had an impact on crops and prices almost doubled compared to 2011.
