Items from the Royal House of Romania on auction in October

Artmark is preparing another auction with items that were in the possession of the Royal House of Romania. The auction that will take place on October 4 at the J.W. Marriott Grand Hotel in Bucharest presents 140 lots with objects gathered during the 80 years of Romanian monarchy. A car license belonging to Queen Mary (1875-1938), evaluated at EUR 5.000-6.000 and an ivory fan engraved with CS (Carmen Sylva), the pseudonym that the queen was using, evaluated at EUR 300-600 are two of the pieces expected to attract the interest of buyers. The most valuable lot of the auction is the Order of Ferdinand I, rank of Girdle, instituted in 1929, and evaluated at EUR 25.000-45.000. Queen Mary, Romanian historian and politician Nicolae Iorga and Romanian prime-minister Iuliu Maniu received this kind of distinction.
