Golden Carpathian Film Festival this weekend

Today, the Golden Carpathian Film Festival opens the second edition in Ploiesti, Romania. According to a press release, the festival is organized by the Association for European Cultural Integration, Ploiesti Municipality with the support of the Romanian National Centre for Cinematography, Golden Carpathian Film&Fair (PEFF), and it wants to be a bridge between companies from Eastern Europe and Asia. Over the four days will be screened nine movies that will be in the official competition for the Grand Prize (EUR 5000) and for the other three Awards (EUR 2500 each). The official competition is dedicated to first and second film. This year there will be 130 guests from 20 countries from four continents, informs. A competition in which 17 cinema projects from 20 countries will be presented to the participating production companies will be part of the fair. The jury of the second edition of the Golden Carpathian Film Fair consists of cinema representatives from Hun­gary – director Adam Cselleng, jury chairman, Al­bania – producer Altin Prifti, and Azer­baijan – producer Ayoube Daneshvar. The purpose of the event is not only buy and sell content but also to understand specific market demands and trends, understand what the competition is up to, and forge alliances, distribution partnerships, co-production deals and industry friendships.
