Owners of green buildings in Cluj benefit of 50 % reduced property taxes

A decision of Cluj county council, announced also by Romanian Green Building Council, reads that starting the fiscal year 2013, the owners of green buildings in Cluj-Napoca will pay only half of the property taxes. The tax incentive is a premiere in the Romanian market and it will apply to buildings which have   green certifications LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), and DGNB  (the German Sustainable Building Council ). Following the council decision, the incentive is 50 % reduction of building tax for the property used as residence.
